Both baked and steam char siu bao were excellent and tasty. Tab was reasonable as I bought enough for a family of 4 along with extra for snacks. Upon checkout the order was again repeated and I added a few extra items. Order was taken and then repeated to ensure understanding. Staff are friendly and helpful and efficient. Can not recommend the hot dog bun enough!! -ScottĪrrived at 7AM and door was already open and no waiting line. This place is a gem!īring cash but you won’t need much as the prices are very reasonable and the only thing better is the tasty savory pastries. Looking forward to ordering something different every time. So delicious, and a crazy-big variety! Pork Bao, Hot Dog Bun, Pineapple Bun…. The meat is so good…I could eat so many of these. It has a whole shrimp inside with other stuff. The bread is so soft with a little sweetness…COUPLED with the bbq meat in the middle….I could eat these every day. Ok.the pork buns are the best I’ve tried. We ordered bbq pork buns…shrimp dumplings…fried pork dumplings and pork dumplings Sui Mai.
#DIM SUM IN SACRAMENTO ZIP#
It’s to go only…the staff is so kind and wonderful…but they zip through the orders because they don’t want you waiting too long… It’s a small place in a shopping center…don’t let that fool you. *Side note – I don’t know the names of the dishes normally but I Googled them so forgive me if there are any errors in the names. My daughter took me here to try this amazing food. Something to note, you have to spend a minimum of $15 if you are paying with a card. We’ve paid less for the same amount of dishes but I wasn’t watching closely to the size (SML) of the plates (that’s normally how I’ve seen the dishes priced). I thought the price was ok, it came out to $29.74. We have a lot of options since we live in the Bay Area and are in Sacramento all the time to visit our family. My craving was fulfilled but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for our next spot.

There was a deep fried lobster dish that looked amazing but we were stuffed at that point.ĭim sum hit the spot.

It’s one of my favorite items but I didn’t want to be wasteful. The flavors were off and I compared it to my normal go-to spot Fortune House, which actually closed earlier this year, and other spots I’ve had in SoCal that I like better.Īfter trying one of everything, I saw the haam sui gai (fried glutinous rice dumplings). Since I haven’t had dim sum in a while, I enjoyed myself but it wasn’t as good as I was hoping for. We ended up with siu mai, cha siu bao, cheong fan, ha gow, soup dumplings and fried shrimp balls.* With just the two of us our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.
#DIM SUM IN SACRAMENTO FULL#
As we started indulging the carts kept coming, we got ahead of ourselves and took a bunch of dishes before we could see the full selection. Before we even were asked about drinks, the carts started coming by and we immediately started picking the dishes we wanted. The dining room is fairly large (much like other dim sum restaurants) and two-thirds of the restaurant was filled up.

When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. It’s definitely a no-frills spot but I don’t go to dim sum for the atmosphere. When you walk in there are signs directing you to go upstairs for dim sum. It has a 3.5 out of 610 reviews so we gave it a try.įrom the parking lot, the building looks a bit run down but nothing to scare you off. I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants to try and weekends are our go-to times to venture off and discover new (or new to us) spots. We haven’t had dim sum in a while and we were home in Sacramento for a wedding so we went to Yelp and ended up at New Canton Restaurant.
